Nanaimo Gymnastics: Empowering Your Best.

Brianna Rapanos
Brianna Rapanos, a dedicated gymnast who excelled in both provincial and high school competitions, earned a $1,000 bursary as part of the Grade 12 Scholarship Program in 2018. We are delighted to now have Brianna as our Recreational Program Coordinator and Competitive Coach.​

Abby Doyle
Abby has had strong showings two years in a row at BC Championships. Last year she won All Around, and this year she repeated her success, winning it again as well as taking Gold on Floor.

Tatum DeSchutter
Tatum began training with NGS in 2016. In 2023, she received an athletic scholarship to join the Acrobatics and Tumbling team at Calvin University, and in 2025 she continues her studies and NCAA training at Canisius University Buffalo.

Mylah Vanden-Elsen
Mylah's achievements include the Western Canadian All-Around Championship in 2019 and Gold Medal Vault in 2022. She is shown above receiving the City of Nanaimo Civic Award, and was nominated for Nanaimo Female Athlete of the year, February 2025. Mylah now trains and studies at Iona University, New York.

Aylan Vincent
Aylan was a dedicated member of our High School program, always supporting her teammates and proud to represent her school. Honoured as NDSS Gymnast of the Year 2022 Aylan exemplifies dedication and resilience, overcoming a foot fracture to take first place on the Island in Zone Championships.

Tihanna Wright
Tihanna was gold medalist at the 2019 Island Championships, was nominated as a finalist at the Nanaimo Sport Achievement Awards in the Female Junior Individual Athlete of the Year category, and now coaches in the NGS Competitive program. Tihanna made a post-retirement comeback at the Luau Cup in 2023.

Blake Fudge
Blake Fudge is already an accomplished athlete, having competed for Team BC in the Western Championships and achieved Gold All Round. She was nominated for and won Nanaimo Female Individual Athlete of the Year in February 2025.

Abby Harris
Abby competed for Team BC in the Western Championships in April of 2025 and achieved First on Floor and Third All Round. She and her teammate Blake were the two highest contributors to Team BC's Silver Medal Score.
