Special Needs Programs
Nanaimo Gymnastics has the resources to help improve the lives of those who are living with special needs. Through the use of the gymnastics equipment we are able to increase flexibility, strength, coordination, balance, self esteem and allow pathways
in the brain to be developed.
Nanaimo Gymnastics has developed this program in order to make a positive impact on the lives of families in Nanaimo. Our coaching staff are National Coaching Certification Program Level 3 coaches with over 20 years coaching experience who love coaching and appreciate the challenges of developing individual programs for Special Needs. Children we have worked with have had great results including; increased fitness, decreased anxiety and fears, improved self esteem, and improved social behaviours, speech and communication. Some special needs we have worked with include autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, FAS, amputees, hearing or sight impairments, cystic fibrosis, and cerebral palsy.
Options include one-on-one, group bookings and integration into our regular programs.
School-Aged children may access one-on-one private lessons for $40/hour or $25 for 1/2 hour.
Please contact us to set up an appointment to discuss how we can help your family.
Organizations or individuals interested in working with or sponsoring our team to further develop these programs
should contact Tracy Welbourn at (250) 740-0330 or tracy@nanaimogymnastics.ca.
