Canadian National T&T Championships 2017
Some great news and results from the Canadian T&T Championships, which took place in Oshawa from July 12-16, 2017!
Nanaimo Gymnastics School had a delegation of 4 athletes. Adin Brenner and Blake Mould were returning athletes, having competed at the National Championship in 2016, while Cassidy Bodnar and Sierra Schuler were in attendance for the first time. Head Coach Megan Conway was also in attendance, with the support staff of Dana Lainchbury and Shannon Fulton-Mould, who travelled with Team BC.
The athletes had a great showing, with Blake Mould receiving a Gold Medal on Trampoline for Level 6, also allowing him to contribute to Team BC’s Bronze Medal during the Team Competition. His Gold Medal finish is also important as it allows him to mobilize to the Junior Level and have the opportunity to compete at International Events on Trampoline, including the World Age Groups (WAGS), an international competition held this year in Sofia, Bulgaria in November 2017. Both Blake and Adin will be competing at WAGS for Double-Mini Trampoline - Blake is currently first alternate for the Trampoline team!! On Double-Mini Trampoline, Blake continued to excel, finishing with a Bronze Medal (Junior Level).
Adin Brenner, competing with an injury, finished with a Bronze Medal for Team BC on Tumbling (Level 5) in the Team Competition, a great placing for the athlete who has mostly competed on Double-Mini Trampoline.
Sierra Schuler finished in 8th place on Double-Mini Trampoline (Level 5), and contributed to Team BC’s Silver Medal in the Team Competition on Double-Mini Trampoline by receiving the highest score of any woman in the Finals. Cassidy Bodnar finished 6th in Tumbling (Level 5).

Indo Pacific Championships 2016
Adin Brenner wins gold at the Indio Pacific Championships!
The 15 year old Trampoline Gymnastics athlete from Gabriola Island took the title in the 15-16 year old category, on Double-Mini Trampoline at the Indo-Pacific Championships in New Zealand from October 21st-25th, 2016. Adin Brenner trains at the Nanaimo Gymnastics School, under the coaching of Megan Conway. Both made the trip to New Zealand earlier this month in order to represent Gymnastics Canada at this prestigious international competition which took place at the Pettigrew Green Arena in Napier. Athletes from South Africa, Australia, Japan, Canada and New Zealand competed in the Championships, which consisted of the 4 Trampoline Gymnastics disciplines: Individual Trampoline, Synchronized Trampoline, Tumbling and Double-Mini Trampoline. Adin competed on Monday, October 24th in Double-Mini Trampoline and secured a total score of 134.600 for the Gold Medal, 1.7 points ahead of the Silver Medal winner, Kai Dwyer, from Nova Scotia, Canada.
Adin has been working hard to make upgrades to his routines since the Canadian National Championships. He achieved many new personal bests, including landing the highest difficulty pass he's ever attempted, his best single pass score and his best 4 pass total, all of which helped him to earn the Gold Medal. In addition to his Championship title, Adin’s score helped team Canada attain a third place finish in the team event.
